My youngest was cut loose today in the always reliable pumpkin (172). She wants to get her license before she goes back to school. All 3 kids will be rated soon. I still get nervous on their first solo, mom keeps her eyes closed.

Wow. What an accomplishment. Please congratulate the new PILOT for us.
 
No matter what your age when you solo, that smile afterwards is fairly universal! Congratulations!! :)

I don't have children, so I can only imagine the joy.

Most excellent! I bet that 172 does good with her solo in it, she looks like she weighs 110 soaking wet.
 
Congrats!!! Question - were you her CFI?

I'm probably going to teach Ciara as she gets older, but I think I'll turn her over to another CFI for pre-solo and pre-checkride checks.
 
Congrats! That is such an exciting and pivotal day for a pilot.

Great picture... is that the shirt that got cut? or did that not happen... sometimes folks don't do that anymore

Do you ever stop and wonder where all those years went? It's like a heartbeat ago I was changing diapers at 3 A.M. Bet it feels like that to you when you look at that pic.
