Last night, Pudget Sound recieved our first frost of the winter season.

The mountans all have a new coating of Snow.

Here we go for another winter, becareful, know your limits, and don't be one of several pilots we loose every year.

I was up there for only one year but the weather was amazing. We saw frost a few times but only once during the winter did I see a light layer of snow. It was there for all of maybe four hours in the morning and then it was gone. I drove around the end of the runway toward the Sound. It was neat seeing snow laying on the beach. There probably isn't near as much freedom to move around the base these days.

Our weather down low is very much what you saw. but we seem to lose aircraft crossing the mountains every year.

The base is much better secured now with 29 milllion bucks of upgraded gate security.

Airmet Zulu currently in effect from SFC to 240 south to the UT/AZ border and it's not yet the middle of October. Tom, your timing is appropriate.

And here I am at Pensacola Beach (mid-80's) taking my last grasps of a summer in retreat. (I love beach/ocean)
