Well.... they say it was an easy jet, so why not let a passenger fly it....

I wonder if the volunteer pilot made overtime for taking the flight.

Yeah I know this is in the UK, and the KCM kerfuffle is over...
 
It would have been fun for a passenger to stand up and say, "No way! I want a properly-uniformed pilot, or no pilot at all!"
