Pre-takeoff checklist
I'm considering installing a new type of Lycoming 0320 into my 172. This would require a new oil filler access door being cut/fitted onto the right hand side of the cowling (looking from the front), replacing the one curently on top of the cowling. I'm not sure what will happen to the fuel drain which is also accessed using the current door, I presume this will also be moved. I'm unable at the moment to get the installation instructions from the STC holder and would like to know if anyone has done this before and can help me with my decision on going ahead with the conversion.
Can anyone describe what needs to be done to do this? Is it a straight forward job? Any help would be appreciated.
