Pre-Flight
I didn’t know whether to post this in this area or the maintenance area, but.....
I no longer am putting out a mode c signal. Light blinks on transponder, atc sees me and the code. First indication of a problem was my gps (Apollo gx60) sent gave me a message during a flight that it wasn’t receiving altimeter info. Next start up procedure it didn’t ask me to enter the altimeter setting and during that flight which was my first ifr since the message regarding no altimeter info is when Atc told me they weren’t getting my mode c.
My question is whether or not my gps gets its altimeter info from the encoder or the narco at150 transponder?
It’s an easy swap if I know which one to swap out.
