The Goodyear Blimp Mayflower N1A (nice N number!) has been here all week. At the moment there are 4 banner tows circling Yankee Stadium. Sports Authority, Geico, etc. How do they get to violate the stadium TFR?

Selig gets a cut of ad revenues? I'm sure he and MLB certainly benefit from the acts allowed.

MLB and most other sports are getting the point of becoming a legalized act not subject to RICO.

The standard stadium TFR doesn't take effect until 1 hr before game time. Even then:
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-2]...THOSE WHO MEET ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA MAY REAPPLY FOR A WAIVER TO THESE RESTRICTIONS: (A) FOR OPERATIONAL PURPOSES OF AN EVENT, STADIUM, OR OTHER VENUE, INCLUDING (IN THE CASE OF A SPORTING EVENT) THE TRANSPORT OF EQUIPMENT OR PARTS, TEAM MEMBERS, OFFICIALS OF THE GOVERNING BODY, THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS AND GUESTS OF SUCH TEAMS, AND OFFICIALS TO AND FROM THE EVENT, STADIUM, OR OTHER VENUE ( B ) FOR BROADCAST COVERAGE FOR ANY BROADCAST RIGHTS HOLDER, (C) FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY PURPOSES OF THE EVENT, STADIUM, OR OTHER VENUE...

By staying more than 3nm away and more than 3000 feet up.

Not the case. Looks like 0.5/1000.

Bingo. About an hour before game time, N1A shows up and :lightning: the banner tows hightail it away like a school of tuna when a hungry shark shows up.

Note that towing banners isn't listed among the allowable criteria for a waiver.

Damn "terrorists." (and I mean the folks who came up with this little "security measure" to make sure they had a cut of all ad revenue...)
