Nothing wrong with running a tank dry as long as you intended to.

Yeah I was gonna totally run it dry, but I was about to start the descent into casseville, and I didn't want to kill it then.

That article was part of the reason I was planning to run it dry.

We picked up 50 gallons for $3.26/g at Henryetta, OK (F10) on the way up.

We filled up for $3.60/g at Pocahontas, AR (M70) on the way back. There was a Pizza Den (across the street from the Pizza Inn) within walking distance of the airport.

Man now I feel like I got hosed at Monroe at 3.75 a gallon. I did get 23 gallons in the left tank .

The strangest thing is this time I didn't have step 0 of the 1-2-3-4-5 emergency checklist - the one where you have 0 - grab your heart from flopping around on top of the panel. 2-Fuel pump, 3-switch tanks, mixture, throttle up, and..."Huh. When is it gonna start running again?" It took a while.
