Anyone have any suggestions for a GOOD Microsoft Project clone for the Mac?

I am using OpenProj, and it kind of sucks....I'm open.

I never found one. I just booted into Parallels when I needed MS Project.

Cheers,

I don't use any sort of project management software and I'm not really sure what it entails, but I'd suggest you go to http://www.versiontracker.com/ and search for "Project." That's a GREAT site for finding any Mac software you want, no matter how obscure. There were several different ones, some a little more specialized (time tracking, etc.) on the first page. Of course, there are a few other things there too (something for "school projects" etc) but you should be able to find something.

And when you do, let us know what it is!

Check that... I figured Omni Group might have something, since they have a bunch of business-type software for the Mac that replaces things like Visio... Sho'nuff, it's called OmniPlan:

http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniplan/

I'd suggest you check that out first. The way Omni works is that their software is downloadable and fully functional for 14 days, then usually becomes crippleware. But, at least you have a good chance to try before you buy, and I think you can also request single-day free licenses after the 14 days if you're not sure yet.

Either way, I've had very good luck with their software and been fairly impressed with the functionality and user interface. They make good stuff.

Please be aware that you can open MS Project files on-line on http://www.amiproject.com and share it using File/Share

Microsoft Project is a leading tool to manage projects and create schedules. Microsoft sold about 20 millions of copies of that desktop software. This software is quite expensive. Unfortunately Microsoft does not provide a free viewer program as it does for other Office applications like Word or PowerPoint. AmiProject web application fills that gap. Just go to www.amiproject.com and open you Project file as you do it in Microsoft Project desktop application. You will see your project with all details of Gantt Chart like this: www.amiproject.com/templates/HomeMove You can also share your project with other people who does not have Microsoft Project installed on their PC. Again, just open your project on website and click File/Share to get a short link on your project like this http://www.amiproject.com/open/b6q6fx73

Hello, Denis. Welcome to PoA.

Microsoft Project is a leading tool to manage projects and create schedules.

It's really a lousy application compared to SureTrak or P3.

But if you want to generate pretty bar chart to take to the staff meeting without really knowing anything about scheduling, it works for that.

I don't think that "GOOD" and "Microsoft Project clone" can be used in the same sentence. :mad2:

But perhaps it's just me. :dunno:
