My friend wants to buy OSX Tiger for his Mac G4 iMac. He can't go higher than Tiger. Where can he buy Tiger? he called the super friendly people at Apple and was told "On our site."

But no more details.

Any clue?

If he doesn't want to buy from Apple, try Amazon, or MacMall.

Why can't he go higher than Tiger? There are workarounds for "unsupported" Macs...

He wants to buy from Apple. But there's no place to do it.

He has the IBM processor, not the Intel.

Nick,

Any reason for Tiger (10.4) and not Leopard (10.5)? Leopard does support the PowerPC machines still, it's the latest, Snow Leopard (10.6) that is Intel-only. There are a lot of nice things in Leopard, too.

Leopard system requirements:
* G4, G5, or Intel processor
* 512 MB RAM
* 9 GB disk space
* DVD drive (for the install)

Leopard is available, and Tiger may be, from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (the phone number for the Apple store).
