Luscombe Endowment Win Me

I got a letter in the mail from Doug where he addressed the delay in the drawing with one sentence. He also says, "As you should already know, we completed the T8F drawing earlier this year and have awarded the prizes to all winning participants." Then he tells about how Team Luscombe, Taylorcraft, Renaissance, and Luscombe SIlvaire are out of business. I'm not sure if he is trying to say that The Luscombe Endowment is strong enough to stay viable, or if he is saying that the competition is gone so now there won't be all of the law suits to worry about. Now he is giving away an 8F and the date for the give away is November 2011. He sent a couple of fliers for me to take around. That is pretty bold in my opinion.

So I wonder what the deal is with the Luscome Endowment? WIth all the other organizations that have been fighting for the Luscombe name, I have lost track of who is who, and who is still around. Is the Luscombe Endowment just Doug Combs, or are there other people involved with it? Does Doug just do this on the side, or is this his business? Is he elected, or is it just him? The home page is seldom updated. When you go to the Luscombe forum, no one is moderating it. There are a few Luscombe related threads but most of the threads are spam or garbage. I just wonder what is going on? I'm certainly not going to send any money for this one.

If you bought a raffle ticket from the Luscombe Endowment for the T8F keep an eye on the FAA aircraft registry site to see if the Luscombe (N454LE) is ever transfered to Moiya Linden. If not then you have a legal case.

At least, if you are named, "Moiya Linden..."

This whole thing seems really shifty to me. I wouldn't partake of it at all unless I saw those guys come really clean.

I'm not sure what a legal case would get me beyond my $40 back. I'm sure that after David took his cut, I wouldn't get enough back to buy a stick of gum.:D Live and learn.

Well, it has been six months since the T8F was won by Moyia Linden and she still has not taken possession of it. I know she already owns a T8F, but if you won a raffle why would not take it even if it would be a second T8F for you. Luscombe T8F N454LE was the grand prize and the Luscombe Endowment still own it. Its not fair to anyone who bought a raffle ticket. This must be against the law.

For those interested, Yes, it was co-incidence that the Lindens (of Wisconsin AND Arizona), won the T8F in July 2010. they bought just over 20 tickets between family members. In 12 prior drawings there were winners in 10 states from Washington to Florida.

The current WIN ME Luscombe is a 1946 8E with full electrical, flaps, radio, transponder, encoder, 65 hours on an overhauled airframe and engine, leather interior etc. there are some 1800 tickets left before the drawing planned in December 2011.

Good Luck.

The Luscombe Endowment WIN ME on the T8F was wrapped up in May 2010 with the award of that airplane (N454LE) to Moya Linden. The airplane now resides in Wisconsin, just outside of Madison, though it was delivered to her at her winter home in Wickenburg AZ which was convenient for both parties.:)

Later that year we opened a new WIN ME drawing for a 1946 Luscombe 8E with flaps, an O-200 engine, electrical , radios, transponder, intercom, hydraulic brakes, leather seats, extended baggage area and pristine restoration. This airplane has sold almost 2000 of 3000 tickets available, 400 of those sold in August after its appearance at OSH Airventure. Pictures are at www.luscombe.org, and the Endowment's facebook page. Tickets can be had by mail, email, telephone (480-650-0883), and by online request/purchase at www.luscombe.org where there is a secure link.

See you all at the airport!
