lowrent..lowrance 1000 airmap

I know this was covered in the past, but before i toss out my lowrance 1000 airmap did anyone come up with a way to update its info?,, i think it was a lowrent thing by kowrance by no longer provide updates for their air map systems, making a really nice gps unit into a high priced paperweight.

I don't believe that there is any feasible way to update it but I still find it useful. I let mine go with the plane when I sold it but have borrowed it back twice. Information subject to change is easily verified by other means prior to a planned flight.

I have an airmap 500 collecting dust as well. Not a fan of lowrance. They better hope I never buy a boat.
