I was working on my certificate a few years ago and had a student pilots certificate and about 40 hrs of flight time. I got in a motorcycle accident and have only been up twice since then but am looking to build some more time. I have flown a piper 160 and Cessna 172. Looking for a private or commercial certificate holder near my area to share costs and build time and hopefully figure out if I am going to get back into the hobby and get my private cert. I'm not looking for an instructor although I'm sure there is a lot I could learn from experienced pilots. I'm just looking to share costs and fly around. If anyone knows of any resources in the area I'd appreciate any info. Thanks for reading.

I don't understand. Student pilots need dual and solo time, neither of which can be built without a CFI either in the plane or supervising remotely. Are you saying you want some stick time? That's possible to accommodate, but it may have to be in the right seat and/or exclude takeoffs and landings.

Well, you can certainly find someone to go flying with that would love to share the cost, however, unless they have a CFI or you have a PP or higher, you will not be able to "build time" in the sense of logging it (they will however). You currently have no valid certificate so the only time you could log is dual, and that is only with a CFI.
