Logging IFR PIC before PPL

Yea… don’t some aircraft models only have brakes on the left side?
Perhaps I am remembering incorrectly.
I don’t recall any limitations due to brakes on only one side…Barons and Bonanzas come immediately to mind as airplanes that typically don’t have any access to brakes on the right side.

What definition of PIC are we referring to here?

Various airplanes have limitations on which seat to solo from. Similarly, some helicopters specify minimum crew and which seat they must sit in. But I can't think of any light aircraft that specifies where the person responsible for the flight must sit, although I think everyone pretty much assumes that the person responsible needs to be sitting in a location with access to the flight controls.

You are correct. The ones I've seen were solo limitations not PIC limitations.

(The only definition of PIC)
