LiveATC in the news

media said:
The most recent accident it captured before the Continental flight was the fatal crash of a small plane operated by a volunteer group that was carrying a cancer patient to Boston in August.

Nice little jab at GA there....

We have gotten a lot of press in the last week or so, which is good, though we wish the extenuating circumstances could be better. Bandwidth went through the roof the day of the crash.

Fortunately we now maintain good media contacts which, allowing us to not only send clips and ensure that the site is given credit, but to also explain certain transmissions to the less aviation-oriented/knowledgeable folks in news.

Not only do I not take it as a jab, I take note of the fact that they're referring to a compassion flight.

Yeah, in a "compassion flights kill people" sort of way... I don't know that it's a purposeful jab, but it certainly isn't the kind of reference to GA that we want.

I guess if that isn't the kind of reference to GA we want, we need to stop crashing...
