Listening to DEN Approach on LiveATC today, heard this understated conversation...

"Delta XXX, how's your ride?"

Long pause...

"Bum-py."

"Would you classify it as Moderate?"

Another long pause...

"[Audible sigh...] Yup."

Maybe.

I've heard the same several times. One memorable flight I was at 10.5 getting bounced real good. All the way up to FL410 guys were complaining and non-stop asking for higher or lower. Then some guy comes on says smooth at his alt. All of a sudden, everyone wants that alt. Then some aircraft coming out of that alt said just stay put, it ain't any better. You could almost hear the "What an ******* that one guy" coming over the freq.

On the descent last night into Denver from the west in the aluminum tube I could hear hear many of the passengers going, "Whee!". The couple next to me were holding hands. I was trying to do a Sudoku puzzle but it was getting hard to write.
