Pedals have you gone to college? I ask cause most degrees have requirements for classes from all sorts of categories unrelated to the knowledge you seek. And certain things are unavoidable if you want your paper.
 
I think our society should disassociate behavior and gender. I think we would be better served if the transaction of biological sexual capability were completely disassociated from casual conversation. My English teacher in high school said "everything is about sex." She was right. Almost every statement we make is dripping with masculine vs feminine. If our language were gender neutral maybe the sexes wouldn't be at war.

Now that I got all that off my chest, this is stupid. We have a gender laden language. Unless we want to all start speaking something other than English, "boys and girls" is a proper form of address. I homestly feel bad for the one in a hundred folk who are genetically gender ambiguous because our language mocks them daily. I also feel bad for my amputee coworker when I take a break to go for a walk. It does not mean I stop going for walks because he can't. Left handers like my son learn to use right handed mice. Gender ambiguous folks gender identify to get through the day due to language constraints.

This is a fake problem.
 
This being a "problem" that requires everyone to change began when they started giving participation trophies to the losing little league team too.

South Park had a new episode just the other night that dealt with this issue of male, female, transgender, etc, bathrooms in their school.

Cartman was tired of the stalls in the boy's bathroom always being taken, so he sticks a bow in his hair, calls himself transgendered, and heads off to the girl's bathroom to take a sh*t.

Laughed my ass off. :lol:

And my tax dollars are paying for them to sit around and dream this crap up! Then the superintendent charged with educating the children here approved it for distribution! He should step down immediately and and we should fire the moron social worker that dreamed this insanity up.

I think the "why" is well established. The problem is forcing it upon everyone else. Because one out of every 1000 kids has a gender identity issue, we have to make all children have gender identity issues. Just like "everyone is a winner" and gets a trophy when their team loses. And nobody is allowed to be offended or insulted, ever.

1 in 100 not 1 in 1000, and genetic issues not gender identity issues. If you include transgendered folks the number would be higher. Note that NIH says "as high as 1.7" but I've more ofteb heard the 1% number.

You seem to think that 1 in 1000 kids want to be the opposite sex. You can't seem to come to grips with the fact that 1 in 100 people you know personally are neither completely male nor completely female by birth.

I stand behind my statements about boys and girls being appropriate address; however, I think your statements are indicative of your desire for facts to be different than they are.
 
I know I'm not stating facts and I'm sure my numbers aren't right. But the point remains. Forcing everyone else to change so one person doesn't feel awkward, or doesn't feel like the lost the baseball game, is ridiculous. As if being called a purple penguin is somehow less confusing or awkward.

I agree that for language reasons alone it is best for intersexed individuals to identify with a gender.

Don't kid yourself, this has nothing to do with transgendered kids feeling good or anything like that- it's neutering the next generation, nothing more.

For those who don't fit with a gender; "I", "you", and "me" seem to work well enough already. Although the person in the WaPost article seems to have issues with counting since they insist on using plural forms.
 
If it is really this big of a deal, have 2 bathrooms. One smaller one that's just urinals and another larger one that's stalls, floor to ceiling. All "unisex".

Instead of trying to accommodate every kid's particular differences why not just put the "celebrate diversity" terminology into practice? Instead of sitting down with the kids and teaching them to accept every little group that's different why not instead focus on it being ok to be different? We're acting like being "different" somehow is a horrible burden and something to be pitied. Is that how anyone actually wants to be treated if they really thought about it?

They're teaching kids that their self worth should somehow be determined by others not from within. They're teaching kids to expect to have their self-worth constantly reinforced to them. The real world doesn't work that way. No wonder so many adults seem to fall apart these days when things get hard. Someone who has true self confidence isn't going to be bothered by others not "understanding them". We should be teaching kids that being unique is something to take pride in not be ashamed of
 
Deviant fruitcakes they are. Creating make believe forced acceptance isn't going to help them. They need to learn how to pretend to be normal as kids then as adults they can choose to keep up the act or move to one of the beautiful Fruitlandias that is full of the same and where they can be themselves whatever that might be.

You can google up the relative rates of criminal convictions, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence arrests, disease, and suicide for your transgender friends. Never mind the brochure you got at the parade they don't do well.
 
The need to make victims out of people is all about insuring the next election goes a certain way. It's all about power and money, one way , or the other.
 
Not sure what any of that crime has to do with one's preference for a mate.

Your facts are wrong about the transgender population. It is 3 out of 1000, not 1 out of 100. Gays, lesbians, and biseuals know what gender they are, they just happen to be sexually attracted to the same sex, or both.
