Anyone here live anywhere near Lewiston, ID?

How near do you need? I live about 300 miles away. Lived there for a few years when I was a kid.

Brian, any idea if you'll be passing through that area anytime in the next few months? I found a rowing shell there that looks interesting. If i decide to buy it i'll have to figure out how to get it here. its 26' long, about a foot wide. might fit in or on top of a glider trailer. pretty easy to mount on top of a car with a rack.

all very tentative right now...

Not usually driving that way very often. Will be going to the region 8 Soaring contest in Ephrata, WA at the end of June. Lewiston would be about 110 miles out of the way.

Not sure how I would mount it on my trailer.

But of course then the question is what do we do with it after I would get it?

Perhaps we just need to get you to come to the Soaring Contest in Ephrata:)

Let me know if I might be able to help .

heh while it might be theoretically possible for my vacation schedule, the 28 hr drive time to Ephrata is sort of a killer.

if you got it then you could drop it off with Adam in Logan in September. Then we could figure out a way to get it the rest of the way. He occasionally has family from iowa come visit him. i'm exploring other options. i have to decide to buy the boat anyway. US national rowing championships are in OKlahoma City this year so there is a decent chance a crew might be coming from that direction with room on their trailer. Not to mention the possibility of various vagabond glider friends criss crossing the country.

what would be most awesomest would be if i could get it to adam by early june and he could bring it to iowa when he gets married

WSU Crew getting rid of one of their shells? They're the only people around that area that I can think of who would be rowing.

the boat is for sale by a guy who is the cross country coach at Lewis & Clark State College. it has LCSC painted on the decking. It appears that LCSC has a crew club but no varsity program. The boat has been in storage for 10 years and apparently they want to convert a space waster into money.

Ghery you're not planning on making any trips down to around Ogden, UT anytime soon are you? or know anyone who is?

I could probably get it to Boise by the 1st part of July (after the Region 8 contest). But it would be mid September before I could get it to Logan.

Just have Henning do it. He puts like 100,000 miles on his truck a year - which means he must be driving across the U.S every moment he's in the country.

well if he's going to be in the pacific northwest followed by the central plains anytime soon that would be great.
