I have the standard clear/fogged over glasses. They are ok but they allow me to inadvertently peak out the left window for orientation.

these work with readers....

I need something that works over glasses. Doc Chien has a template he uses for cutting out a set from a manila folder and then stapling an elastic band to it. It looks identical to what Mike just posted. I have one in my bag.

Staple it to the visor of an old ball cap and it's a lot more comfortable.

It pretty much is what Doc Chien's template creates, including the elastic and staples... benefits to the purchased on is that it's creased in all the right spots already.

It's been said, "One peek is worth a thousand cross checks."

Just stuff a folded sectional in the left window to block the view where you peek.

I had some cheap $10, clearish foggles... They gave me a headache so I put some electrical tape on them to try to keep my eyes from trying to focus on the the blurry parts. Now that I'm done with IFR training/checkride anytime I want to practice I just pull a ball cap down and not move my head.

Ditto, but of course you miss the opportunity to wear some stylish eye wear

Fits well and it's harder to cheat.

I use these and really like them.

Safety glasses and white glider wing tape (Black electrical tape will work also). Cost is <$5 and you can customize them to lessen cheating. The left side has a smaller opening that the right side.

Yep if I had to do it over again I would make my own for sure! But as my wife always tells me...I like to waste money:D

Someone beat me to the idea of taking a Sharpie to a set of foggles. :mad2:

You snooze you lose. :D

In 2000 I taped off the clear part of my foggles and rattle canned them black. The opaque part was giving me headaches.
