Right now, from my view at about 104w its 10d above the horizon, a terrific orangeyellow and is framed by wisps of clouds.

Owooooooooo!

Last night I actually pulled over to the side of the road to try to take a picture of the moon rising over the Chugach. It was *aaaa--oooooooo!!* beautiful.

I was doing my last lap around the block on my new road bike (post fitting) when I rounded a corner in full aero and saw a big, brilliant smiling moon coming over the horizon. Absolutley beautiful.

Cheers,

my bedroom window faces west and I've had a nice bright room for the past few days, in the wee hours of the morning.

I missed it. You really can't see much from here at night anyway with the so called security lights being brighter than the full moon.

This morning it was clear enough to see the terminator line before sunrise. If you watch it over time, you can see it change angles from polar north/south throughout the year and leaving the pole in sunlight or dark depending on the season.

There was an incredibly bright incandescent dot on the horizon this morning. It almost looked like a backlit weather balloon. I pulled out the telescope to take a look and it turned out to be an airliner just above the horizon. I was seeing the short contrail behind it.

Sunrise today: 0724 LCL
