I am going to Orlando and I am looking for any local information on which airport to choose between the two.

Any information would be appreciated.

Been it KISM twice and like the place. Never been into KORL. If you're there for Disney, I would say KISM.

Been there for both Disney and non-Disney over the years, and KISM has always been great.

I liked KORL

What used to be Ranger at KISM has treated me well (I believe that's Odisey now). Somewhere in the middle between Signature for posh and glitzy and the 'Jet Center' in a double-wide on the far end of the field.

Where are you going in Orlando? As others have said. if you're doing the Disney thing KISM is closer. KORL is my home plate and I've been here my whole life. Let me know what you're doing and I'll try to help...

All depends on where you're going and if you're renting a car. Both are good choices and some have gone to KGIF, assuming you're renting a car anyway.

Rosen Centre Hotel
9840 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819

We are going for a surgical conference. We will go back to Disney, but this time is pure business.

6 of one, half a dozen of another.

They're within a mile of the same travel distance and the same time to travel. That said, if you're arriving at rush hour, KISM is probably quicker to International Drive.

At KORL, Atlantic Aviation is nice. Sheltair also seems nice the few times I've been in there but I know nothing about fees at either.

KISM has 3 FBOs: Signature (pricey, caters to jets mostly), Odyssey (fuel is pricey but they have more ramp and hangar space than anybody), Kissimmee Jet Center (more reasonable fuel price). Again, I know nothing about fees since I'm never overnighting there.

I'm a big fan of Sheltair, and is very nice at KORL, nice field convenient to downtown...

Agree with the others. Both are good, but depends on your purpose for being in Orlando.

Cost-wise, ISM is much cheaper if you go to the Jet Center. Fuel is like $2/gallon less than ORL.

But, it is a no-frills kind of place. Their ramp is like a junkyard and their facilities are a bit ghetto. They did treat us alright when I took the family down to Disneyworld last month.

No kidding?? I think the last time I was there it was Ranger, or maybe Atlantic?? It was reasonably nice.
Is Jet Center a different outfit?

Yes, Jet Center is on the SE corner of the field. Much cheaper than the other FBOs (big consideration when filling up a Beech 18), but the ramp wasn't pretty.

Edit: I had the wrong corner. Jet Center is on the SE side

Okay.... I believe Atlantic is the SW corner?? Am I thinking of that right?

According to ForeFlight, there is no Atlantic currently at ISM (they are at ORL). There is Quantem on the NW, Signature NE, Jet Center SE and nothing at all on the SW.

Okay thanks.... it's been a number of years since I've been and I know things change.

Atlantic at KORL is on the north side (used to be Showalter). Sheltair is on the west side. Just for reference. Nobody asked...

Lol. The only thing missing at that FBO is a one-eyed dog to complete the picture.

Ranger (now Oddisey) is sort of in the middle between Signatures marble floors and Jet Centers double-wide. Professional looking facility and good ramp space. They brought the car out to the plane and had cable tiedowns.

Didn't Sheltair change owners recently?

I had a pleasant visit there in 2013, but nothing since.

Not that I'm aware of. The school based there became TraxAir I think. The FBO across the airport did. Bob Showalter sold to Atlantic.
