what an amazing feeling to take her up all by myself. The crazy part is that I wasn’t even a little nervous. I started almost a year ago. But due to my fathers health and subsequent passing my training has been very sporadic. I just want to say thank you for all the information I have gleaned from this site. I’m very excited to continue with my cross country trips. You guys are the best!

Congrats! I wasn't nervous either until I got on downwind and looked over at the empty right seat and said the Alan Shepard prayer - "please God, don't let me f*** up."

Well done!
It's one of those life moments you'll never forget.

Welcome to the less than 1% of the population that has successfully taken an airplane into the sky by themselves and returned safely to tell about it!

Amazing how the airplane climbs when you kick that fat ass instructor out of the plane.

Congrats
This is so true. My little C172 was at 400 ft by the time I reached the intersection of the runways. Usually I'm just off the ground by then! I climbed to pattern altitude very quickly. It's funny you should say that though. My instructor is a big person but not really overweight. He told me, "When you get my fat a** out of here she really going to climb!". He wasn't wrong!

Well done, pilot! Congratulations. Great feeling, huh?

I'll never forget my first solo takeoff. Full throttle, reach Vr, pull the stick back, rotate, and then the thought flashed through my mind, "Oh sh|t, what am I doing here?"

ONWARD!

Yup! I think mine was something like "well, I HAVE to land it now"

That was about my feeling. There were only two possible outcomes, either I land this plane or I die. I didn't want to die yet, so...

Congrats Jeff!
