Want To Buy King Air Pilot - Wichita

Well, maybe looking to rent one rather than buy one.

My wife's company is looking for a C90 pilot for corporate flying in the Wichita area. Generally 2-3 flights/week in this gig with the potential to do more if there's need. Job has the potential to move into 135 as well.

King Air experience not necessarily required but a positive. This is a single pilot job and a contract gig. Candidates will be evaluated based on their individual qualifications.

Seeing as I do all the flying, I wouldn't be looking for a pilot.

I don't know what my insurance would require if I went turboprop, but assuming one of the simpler/easier ones it probably wouldn't take much.

If they are going the contract route, they will probably need to have a roster of two or three pilots. If you aren't willing to retain someone full time, you can't be upset when they say they have another trip when you call them for a flight.

$350/day is the current rate for the standard runs (flying a doctor out to middle of nowhere, sit for the day, fly him home), plus some additional trips that are paid on an hourly basis as they come up. Generally trips are Mon/Wed/Th but not guaranteed. Really, the pilot should plan to live in Wichita to make this practical as commuting from any significant distance won't be likely doable.

I agree that there's the possibility for that, although we have some people interested currently. The job ultimately will feed into 135. Previously they had one pilot and he did all the flights. For the right person it's really a pretty sweet gig. If my job allowed remote working I'd be trying to do it myself.

I doubt you will find any one for less than $500 a day and I bet you will be paying $600 or more in a King Air.

There will be several low time pilots that would be glad to have this. And by low time I mean 2500 hours or so.

This really doesn't sound like a full time gig, more along the lines of something I would like to do when I "retire". But Newton would be as close as I would want to live to Wichita.
