Which one is a better potty-break, stretch legs, fuel up kind of place? They both have decent reviews. They're both in my flight path.

Plus KJEF tower personnel are pleasant and helpful, and depending on active runway, you'll get a great view of Missouri State Capital and Missouri River.

I've been to both for fuel stops and had a great experience at each, can't go wrong with either choice. KCOU has Skyline Café on the field if you're there around lunchtime. We ate there on one stop and were happy with the food and service.

They're both pretty laid back compared to my home airport :)

Never been to COU, but have been to JEF. JEF has a restaurant, and the last time I was there, the FBO was cooking hot dogs, or had pizza, or something.

My mistake! I just checked my logbook and KJEF is where we ate lunch at the restaurant on the way to Peoria, not KCOU. On the way home around dinner time the next day the restaurant was closed so the FBO fed us their leftover barbeque and ice cream! Great folks! I haven't eaten at the restaurant at KCOU, it was just a quick fuel stop on the way to/from Poplar Grove, IL to look at a Cardinal.

I have not been to KJEF but I have landed at KCOU. They have a nice FBO, very friendly people IIRC, they had a crew car available but I didn't use it.

I was there to get a transponder check done so I just hung out in their lounge most of the time.
