KAP140 deafening

Amiright that the only way to adjust the audio alert (for A/P disconnect, which is insanely deafening) is via the initial installation method, using cards/tools that are probably only available to an avionics tech?
Also the Trim In Motion verbal alerts are way too loud.

Same here. Mine is quiet now...as it sits in a box (replaced by GFC 500).

Seriously though...yes, mine was too loud also. I can ask my avionics tech if he knows how to reduce the sound level.

The volume setting are adjusted in the internal menus via the diagnostic cable and laptop connection. The changes are pretty quick and easy to do if the tech has the service information and the required cable.
