Hey Guys,

Does anyone know of any good websites, tools, videos, etc. for learning King Air 90 systems? What about reviews on Dauntless's Air Cards? I have the Flight Safety book but sometime's that's not enough or would just like to mix it up a bit.

Any ideas what might have helped you?

Thanks!

Which book do you have? The full tech manual? Or something else? Jump on SWA and come down for a ground school if you you want. We could spend a couple of days hitting the books and you'd know what you need to be smarter than 99% of the pilots flying them now.

Do that, and I'll buy dinner one night.

That is an amazingly cool offer. Well, both offers are...but, I'm sorry Spike, Wayne's offer trumps yours. :)

I'm not sure how you could possibly turn that down, Tristan.

+1, the way to go.

If Wayne's offering then I might come down for that, too.

Although I doubt the offer's open for me - I don't look as good in a skirt even if I have nicer hair.

Sure, come on down. Just remember that the pretty ones get the easy questions. If I can remember any of them.

I'd love to but I'm not sure I could pull that off. If I did, how many days do you think? Remind me, what is you're background in teaching King Air systems?

My books: Flight Safety's King Air C90A/B Pilot Training Manual and a copy of the C90B POH. I'm doing the PIC checkride in a C90A but apparently the B POH is close enough.

Ted, you can have the prettiest hair in the world but a girl is always gonna look cuter in the pilot's seat. ;)

When was the last time you saw someone hang up a poster of a guy and an airplane? Although...that might be creepy anyways considering most pilots are guys.

I have no problems getting asked the tough questions. Of course, when I don't have a good answer it goes something like this:

Indiana State Trooper: "Alright, why were you going so fast?"
Me: "I'm on my way to school"
IST: "That's not much of an excuse"
Me: "I never said I had an excuse!"
IST: "I'm writing you up for 85."
Me (thinking): "That's not bad since my speedometer was blinking 'ERR'"

I don't really know anything about them, just thought it would be fun to hang out for a couple of days.:wink2:

But I've had an insurance-approved King Air pilot training school for 13 years and ~six years IP at Simuflite.

See if you can find P. J. Eddy around there somewhere. He flew for the power company in NE for many years, and maybe still does. He's a good hand and knows the King Air as well as anybody I ever had in the sim.

Tristan, Wayne has a pretty good clue... I was you, I'd jump on that offer like stink on dukey. Looks like you can get to Dallas for less than $400, round-trip. How often does life serve you up that kind of deal?

There are probably some good folks there as well, and no hassle or $ spent.

I don't mind buying an airline ticket as much as it's really hard to convince my boss to let me go. The king air tends to be a touchy subject. I will think about it though, I'd love to do it if I could.

Maybe he's afraid if you get KA qualified you'll leave.

I'm not going anywhere right now but yes, someday I will move on.

I have a book by Tom Clements, which is considered by many as the "bible"on King Air systems and operations.

Anything Tom writes is good stuff, he's the best in the business. Not only is he a top-notch King Air guy, he flys a Cessna 180 with a Great Plains conversion and rides motorcycles. I've enjoyed knowing him for 15 years or so.
