Went to do a local flight after my powerflo was checked. On run up when checking carb heat I did not notice a drop in RPM. I did three touch and goes, did not notice any issues.

Temp on the ground 30
Dew point 18
49% humidity
DA 1853

Does carb heat always affect RPM, and if so what should I be looking for at this point?
Thanks.

Rather than speculating based on temps and such, decowl it and investigate. I expect that is the only way you will find the problem.

To respond to your question though, was the engine warm enough yet to apply heat to the carburetor when checked? If it was still cold you were not applying heat. I have flown some planes tha even on a cold day, the box will have heated enough by the time I’m at the run up box to give an RPM drop while other airplanes are not warm enough by that time to give a noticeable drop.

Hope this rambling helped.
