John Glenn hospitalized

Last of the Mercury 7. Lost a few aviation greats this year. Hopefully not another one.

Yep. A true American hero. An aviator / astronaut from a whole different time. A time when we had ticker tape parades for astronauts in NYC. That'll never happen again.

Time catchs up to everyone sooner or later, best wishes, a true American aviator.

One of the greats. Hope it's not serious One my fond aviation memories is running into him on the ramp at KBAF some years ago while he was loading his Bonanza.

I met him.in October 08 on the same day I had originally planned to take my instrument ride.

He was with his wife and I got an opportunity to speak to him. I told him I had cancelled my instrument ride to be at the event and he became very interested in talking to me. His wife rolled her eyes and left us standing there to discuss his P-Baron and my upcoming check ride.

He was incredibly genuine and a great conversationalist.

Just read that he passed away. Another legend gone. RIP

John Glenn had two of them.

He had an incredible life. A hard worker an aviator through and through and a genuinely nice person. One of the few people who remained a hero in my eyes for all my life. Ad astra amigo

True American hero....I actually owned his house in Taylor Lake Village for a short time the house that He and Annie built next to Carpenters...I guess I was the third or fourth owner.

RIP John Glenn...Semper Fi!

Absolute legend. RIP

John Glenn and his fellow astronauts all made me want to reach for the skies and beyond. Rest in Peace, John Glenn.

RIP :(
The sad thing is, that it is unlikely we will see any more Glenns, or Armstrongs, or Concordes, or Apollo missions in our lifetime :(

Inspired a generation and more.

RIP, Col. Glenn.

"Here I am, floating in my tin can, far above the world...."

A tough year for those we looked up to in our youth.

Floating free and out of pain.

Addicted to zero gravity, man, I'd like some of that..!!

Not only was his pioneering space flight an inspiration to many (including me), he was one of the few politicians for whom I had complete respect. He will be missed.

RIP and tailwinds, John Glenn. :(
