Was just poking at looking up something about Jeff Dunham (the ventriloquist who does the "Achmed the Dead Terrorist", "Walter", "Jose Jalepeno on a Stick", and "Peanut") and ran across this on Wikipedia...

"Dunham has harbored a love of helicopters since childhood and is fond of building and flying his own kit helicopters from Rotorway helicopter kits. At the time he finished writing his autobiography in June 2010, he was beginning to build his fourth kit.[10][11][13] He is also an aficionado of muscle cars and Apple, Inc. products.[13]"

I'll be darned.

Saw his show at OSH several years ago. IIRC, his 'payment' for doing the show was a kit to build (another) helicopter.

Dont believe so. If I recall correctly he went flying one morning down in texas and got carried away flying to low and to fast and he walked away from it just fine. I may be wrong though.

As long as you don't hurt anyone it's just a learning experience.;) I had aFrench neighbor at the marina in Long Beach who kept building and crashing a Rotoway Exec insisting he could teach himself to fly it. After the 4th time he crashed it he asked if I wanted to buy it.

I think that was the general message he gave when I saw it on TV as well. I mean he built 3 others so he must have figured out something. :dunno:

I think they are alright helos, and once you have invested in the tooling, both physical and mental, of having done it once, if you enjoy doing it, it's a great personal hobby aircraft for a gear head with enough money to do things right and keep them in order. I've long thought about one.

Yeah hes also crashed one of them!

Was Achmed flying at the time?

Is deliberate self induced temporary extremely divergent bipolar is disqualifying on a medical. If so, he is done forever...

My wife bought us tickets to his show a couple years ago, it was a blast, glad to hear he's a pilot as well as a funny guy!:D
