J-3s for ever

Great videos. Most of my favorite flights were in a J-3.

Awesome! I have a few hours in the one on floats that taxis away from the dock at 1:28 - N172T. I recognize a couple of the lakes up there too. Sweet!

Here she is, last July:

Aw shucks, now I gotta run out and fly a cub.

I was thinking the same thing. Are there any being used for instruction in the Northeast? I seem to recall hearing about at least one school in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. Maybe I should break out the google...

The school at Andover Aeroflex here in North Jersey has a new Cub Crafters or Legend Cub on Bushwheels that they
instruct in.

Yeah, those were the guys I was thinking of. The Cub Crafters planes look great, too, but I'd really love to fly a classic J-3. Realistically speaking, though, I'm not going to have time this summer, so I guess I'll have to look for one in norther California instead.

You can contact Vintage Aero Sports LLC at Van Sant airport in Erwinna PA. 610-487-8444.

Stop in San Antonio on the way to either coast and we'll put you in one...

Hmm. Well we are making a cross-country drive in late summer, but we weren't planning on coming that far south. Tempting, though. :D And Arnold, thanks for pointing Vintage Aero Sports out. That's not an impossibly long way away from here.
