Israel.

It is an amazing and beautiful country John with warm and vibrant people and history you can't even begin to imagine ...... and yes the women are beautiful.

The e-mail said "most people".

-John

I'm not sure that I believe that "most people" think of Israel in that way, but people's conclusions never cease to amaze me.

Israel is not only beautiful and modern, but it's a high tech haven with some of the brightest technology minds anywhere in the world. Israel is also the only beacon of freedom and western values in that part of the world.

And the women, well, I'll defer to the other comments already posted.

Although working for an Isreali company with their management style was, uh, interesting.

Cool vid. Looks like a great place to visit.

Ditto. My experience was that culturally, they're surrounded by folks who are plotting to kill them every day. They had a tendency to hide important details of the work, even from teammates, if they weren't in Israel.

Can't say as I blame them, but it took me a while to figure it out. Execs tried firing other execs, etc... It never really worked. Some stuff "only Israel knew" and there wasn't any changing it.

Quite fascinating.

One of our brightest support engineers at that place was an expatriate former Israeli citizen who had nationalized as a U.S. Citizen and was a Christian. Very interesting cultural stories there. I never knew that the required military service in Israel can easily be waived for non-Jewish Israeli young people.

The government seems to lean toward the Armed Services being Jewish for that reason. Not all young folk take the option, of course, but many do.

It's not quite the same as our "conscientious objector" rules here.

Fascinating people and place. Would love to see it in person someday.

Most would mean 51% or more, and I highly doubt it's that high. Anyway, thanks for the video. Cool shots.

I'm just the messenger, what do I know. Years ago I dated a young woman who worked as a fund raiser for the JDL, to say she was good looking would be a major understatement. She lived in Tel Aviv.

At the time, I was employed by a Jewish owned company. One of the owners told me I was nuts getting involved with the JDL. His advise to me was to make tracks. I was young, he was old, so what did he know?

Anyway, she went back home soon after that, I never heard from her again. I was young, I didn't care, lots of ladies out there. Nothing bad came of it.

I remain good friends with my old boss and mentor.

I had family that were missionaries in Israel, made a couple trips, spent about 5 weeks there.
Incredible country, amazing and warm people, beautiful scenery, astounding history, and the Red Sea was the most gorgeous water I've ever seen.

Jerusalem, Masada, the city of Dan, Caesarea, and Acre were astounding, it was a life changing experience.

Israel is on my list of places to visit.

Who thinks Israel is a war torn desert?

Actually, having never been in that part of the world, and having the night to think about it, I guess I have been one of those that thought the same.

If it were possible for me to have made a video of what I thought Israel was like, it would not have been anything like this video. It definitely would have been predominated by the sandbox look.

I read Earnist Ghann's "Masada" a few years ago, that fortified my belief in how it looked.

I wish I had gotten the chance to see it for myself, too late now, not on a Social Security income.

Most likely she was an "intelligence gatherer" for an Israeli agency that starts with an "M". You were being checked out. I'm not kidding.

It is about half desert, actually.

Something else I will never know. At that stage of my life, having just gone through a divorce, I was busy trying to confirm my masculinity, very busy. Besides making money, it was all I much cared about.

Israeli women are ugly. Example:

Israel is pretty transparently a religious state, unlike countries in many other parts of the world which may hold historical religious influence, but operate as secular states.

Foreign companies holding IP and other information close to the vest? That's no surprise, and it works both ways. No doubt that the Israeli culture contributes some unique characteristics to those practices, but the behavior that you describe happens every single day with companies here in the United States.

Not a foreign company. Same company. Engineering Division. Acted like they were never fully on the same team.

I'm hoping this can be taken for what it is rather than a launching point for The Spin Zone.

Most people have an image of Israel as just a war torn desert.

It does look like one of their chief attributes is all their pretty girls.

Thank you for posting this cool link... :)

Notice to all POA members: if you travel to Israel, please send me a PM.

I'd be happy to take you flying in my area ( weather permitting ).

P.S. the best time to visit the country is around April - May ( too hot and too humid during the summer - with haze and poor visibility )

I've been to Israel a couple times and saw a number of the places highlighted in the video. Haifa on business the first time (company has a design facility there) and Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Eilat and Masada the second time. If you haven't been there, go. We need to make another trip some time to see what we haven't seen yet. And spend more time in Jerusalem.

Fabulous place.

Ghery, you should definitely contact Alon next time you go. He lives very close to Haifa. He was a great host when I was there.

We had some contact the second time I was in Israel, but nothing worked out that time. We definitely need to get together some time. Not sure when I'll be back in Israel, but there will be a next time.

Do it soon!!

Israel has a very vibrant economy, makes some nice planes and a source of some of the best machine tool equipment in the world..:yesnod:

Why the United States of America is giving them 55 million dollars a day in foreign aid is way beyond me.:dunno::dunno:.. IMHO....

Love Israel, spent 5 months there traveling, then off to Europe for 3 I can honestly say I had some of the best times in Israel, if you want everything you can ever ask for out of a country its right there, beach, culture, mountains, good food, nice people..
