Is there a way to mark a THREAD 'read'?

I've been away for a long time, and want to mark threads 'read' even without opening every page. I don't want to mark the entire forum 'read'.
 
Try the red "ignore thread" thing on the right above the first post.

Thanks. I only use that when I don't want to read future posts. What I want is to ignore the past year of Pet Peeves and Friday Joke Day without needing to read all the old ones.
 
Never mind... Looks like I can get away with just opening the last page of the thread. Thanks.
 
Okay that is an excellent point.

When I open the forum, unread threads are red. When I read them they turn blue. I think it should be the other way around.
 
For me, sometimes I would read a long thread halfway down without reading the entire thing and it still marks the entire thread as read. Just curious if there is a way to know where I last left off at instead of me trying to remember it myself where I last left off?
