Is adding vor worth it?

OK, so I dug out the Aspen install manual. Apparently they don't support the SL30's digital RS-232 protocol, which is a bit odd since it's pretty well documented.
That is odd. Kinda sucks as it would be nice to connect directly to the Aspen without the need of the ACU. Not only would it save cost, but it would save complexity and weight.

But aspen couldn't make %250 profit from selling the acu.

Well, I just pulled the trigger on the Trig Nav/Com as the wife gave the green light to buy it. Now to start building a harness and planning out the antenna install.

Where are you getting the ACU from? Same place as the Trig?

I've got a local shop on the field that might have an ACU in stock. I like to support them when I can so I'll ask them when they return from Oshkosh in a couple days. I figure the install is at least a month out as I still need to buy the nav antenna and get some wiring to start building the harness. The harness build shouldn't take too much time though and the radio I'm replacing is the same physical size so I shouldn't even have to modify my panel at all. :)
