iPhone issue

When either of us gets an incoming call BOTH phones ring. If we answer simultaneously (within a second or two) we have a 3 way conversation. Whoever answered first will terminate the call when they hang up regardless of which phone number the call was intended for.

Ideas would be appreciated.

This isn't an iPhone (or any phone) issue. It's a feature called simultaneous ring and is done by your phone carrier. You should contact the carrier on how to disable it.

(Simultaneous ring is now NOMOROBO works, you let their "phone" hear your rings and caller ID and they pick up and then hangup on the robocallers).

Same Apple ID on both phones? iOS 8? See if 'handoff' is on under general settings and turn it off.
