I knew it would happen soon but did not expect it quite this soon. The Today Show reported this morning that the rumors about the next iPhone have started already and created a 9% stock increase for Apple yesterday.

Make it stop!

I'm waiting for the I phone ten to come out.

Nothing new (no pun) here.

Since the release of the first personal computers waaaay back <mumble> years ago, there has always been the question of buy now or wait for the next greatest version that would be available Real Soon Now.

Heck, I'm sure the really old timers can tell us about the upgrade frenzy with the old IBM mainframes, Dec minis, etc.

I bet money it closely resembled the iPhone 6.

All that said, I have one of these gizmos and find it entirely convenient.

I heard a rumor that it comes with a tiny parachute in the event that you drop it.

The 10s will have expandable memory. iTards will beam about how it's the first smart phone to offer such a feature.

I don't recommend getting your stock info from the today show. AAPL has moved @ 4-5% over the last 2 days...nothing to do with iPhone 7 rumors. I wish it was up 9% as I have a chunk of change invested with them.

I need to upgrade from the 4 I have to be able to install the Lyft app which requires iOS 8.

Looking at a 5s, wow that's expensive. 6s? only 600-700 bucks!

A friend who is really into phones paid over 1000 for his 6+ around the time it came out. My desktop was that much! :hairraise:

I'm not into the retro large phone trend, still have my 4S, shy of apple making a phone that size I'll just keep my 4S, browses the net, checks email, calendar, and phone works just as well as my girls huge 6s.

I went with a 6+, and web surfing is one place it clearly excels over the smaller sizes.

And my iPad mini is even better for surfing than the 6+

Just wait the iPhone 8 will be the same size as a full size iPad, it'll even probably come with a free case.

Apples bringin' the bag phone back :D

It's definitely nice having the larger screen. I also use it as a backup to the iPad in the plane in case the iPad dies. I usually upgrade every other cycle. It's worth it to me despite knowing that the main upgrades are usually processor speed and a better camera.

I use an HTC Radar 4g from T-mo. Windoze Phone ver. 7. Sales were so slow on it that they paid me to buy it. Not like "The phone is free with a 2 year contact but we're not dropping your price after two years" free, either. T Mo was the first major US carrier to widely unbundle the phone from the service plan. This phone was $150 and I got a $200 rebate for buying it; with a service plan cheaper than A/S/V.

Coming up on 4 years old, I just replaced the battery (voiding the warranty to do so). It can take pictures, surf the web, text, tweet, and oh yeah, make telephone calls.

Suffice it to say, I've never waited on line at the Apple store. And I don't find their fanbois cute.
