iPad 2 32G wifi, latest software. I plug it in, it's recognized, it starts to synch and never does.

Any clues as I need to get videos I shot off of it.

Instructions please.

Settings->General->iTunes WiFi Sync

Also, what is the nature of the end of the sync that starts? Is there an error message on the iPad or (more likely) in iTunes on the computer, or does it just stop? What does it say it's doing (in iTunes up in the top center where the play progress bar is for music) right before it stops? How long are you letting it run?

wifi synch won't let me click, it says it will synch next time my computer is available. Both my computer and iPad are sharing a Clear wifi hotspot.

I let it run until it errors out on iTunes with a message that say 'could not be initiated' or something like that.

Clear probably blocks machines on their hotspots from seeing each other. Set up an AdHoc WiFi network from the laptop and attach the device to that to try wifi again. Or find a wifi network that lets the devices see each other.

Nope, tried it with both on a different network and the iPad still wouldn't give me a wifi synch. Set up an ad hoc and the iPad saw the network but says it's unable to join.

Is the computer a PC or a Mac?

If it's a PC, uninstall itunes, reinstall itunes, and try again.

Steve wins the cookie, thanks, I should have thought to do that first since it's Apple and I updated a couple of days ago. This iPad causes me more aggravation than a PC ever did. :nonod:

WTF!!! It did the initial synch, but now it won't let me change anything with the second sync now freezing unable to initialize.

It's because it's a PC running iTunes that's actually causing all of your problems with the iPad.

Reinstalling "drivers" because some other application had access to change them, indeed.

What kind of kiddie toy Operating System does that? Especially without becoming root. ;) ;) ;)

This reflects my sentiments exactly, you can add iOS to it as well, it's all crap.
