So, who is buying one for their plane? I can picture two ipad Pro's in place of a G1000 in an experimental or an iPad pro in a Cirrus.

I am sure sectional and approach charts would look great on one. Also good for us pilots with not so good eyesight

I use an iPad mini and an iPhone 6+ in the cockpit currently. I am planning on getting the new iPad Pro, and will install ForeFlight on it. I *think* how I'm going to use it is mostly as a planning tool on the ground, but will have it within reach in the cockpit to see a wider view of charts. Might also try putting the side by side feature to use with FF on one side and MyRadar on the other to compare weather progs, etc.

Me! I love the mini but i like the bigger screen better

Love the I pad on a ram mounting in the cockpit.

As with many, I fly with an iPad with ForeFLight and love it. I am pretty much an old fashioned 6 pack guy when it comes to basic flight instruments but I love GPS navigation and all of the info that ForeFlight gives you. Prefer that combo to all glass.

I'm thinking about it. The screen is pretty big, coming in at 12.9". I'm not sure if that'll be too big or not. The iPad sits on my knee so it may work out.

I'm waiting for somebody to come up with engine monitoring sensors that can communicate with an iPad app. A po' boy's G3X Touch. That would be sweet. I could put two Minis on the panel and be done with it, or maybe a Pro with a split screen. I'm sure it's coming.

While i love the idea of the iPAD Pro, it's much too large for a C172. The Mini is perfect, though, and you can pick up a second one for about $200 this Christmas.

We ordered an iPad Pro for Karen last Wed when it became available, and it arrived Friday. Got it set up last night.

Boy, it really is HUGE!

What you see here is my late 2008 15" MacBook Pro, her new iPad Pro, her iPad Air 2 and my iPad Mini Retina.

I'm suspecting the Pro might be a bit large for everyday use, but will be great for media consumption. The speakers sound a lot better than the other iPads.

The plan was for me to inherit her iPad Air 2 for around the house use, keeping the Mini for aircraft and traveling use. That may or may not work out now - we'll see.

Aviation related, it's kinda large for cockpit use but might be squeezed in somehow. Might function well in an Experimental as a PFD/MFD/Navigator or some such.

Still, amazing times and it's great having such a wide selection of screen sizes.

Thanks for posting the side by side comparisons. I was thinking about getting an iPad Pro for the plane to replace my iPad Air but I may rethink that now. I haven't heard anything about updating the iPad Air 2 so I'm hesitant to get one of those if there's a new one coming out soon (I know, I know, they're always being updated and coming out with new ones).

Rumor says a replacement won't be out till fall of 2016.
