Apologies if this has already been discussed, but didn't find anything on search.

I've see so many rumors, thought I'd check in here.

I'm almost ready for my IFR written. However, I now understand that new PTS's come out on 6/15. Some rumors state the IFR test changes that day. Others say no.

I don't want to go in and get a poor score because my studies were all wrong. Anyone know for sure? If the test changes, how do I prep (have been using King Schools and Gleim)?

Thanks, all!

The IFR study guides have been wrong for years. Nothing new.

Hint: you won't see a billion ADF questions, and that's from well before the ACS.

The only way to really get it is to know everything. Honestly, IFR is a lot more about rules and conventions than primary training was anyway.

If you know the material, you will do fine. Just don't prep by trying to memorize answers. The new ACS and subsequent question changes are specifically aimed at reducing the effectiveness of rote memorization as a study technique. The Private Pilot KTS will change on June 13 and that guarantees some question changes. I don't think a new KTS will appear yet for Instruments.

You can expect more coverage of Risk Management during your oral, but whether or not more risk questions will appear on the written remains to be seen.

Yeah, I was not paying attention and will be taking the new version. I am not asking for all the questions, just somewhere to look to get an idea what the new style questions are like. I am assuming most of the texbooks and ground courses are still 100% valid for what needs to be learned.

I just got my instrument ticket last month. My understanding from the conversation between the CFI and the DPE is that the new test will be more scenario-based.
