That's certainly a possibility, and I can't say that reacting to misinformation won't give more attention to those who spread it. On the other hand, those who see it will have the benefit of both sides, as opposed to those who see only the original misinformation, who may be totally snookered or believe that there is no alternative to the statement.Grant:
I do not suggest we quietly acquiesce to the spreading of lies, but rather, we simply endeavor to spread the truth ourselves, rather than reacting to the purveyor of the lies.
The one expands knowledge, the other, gives much-sought publicity to the scare-monger. "All publicity is good publicity" -- this Bozo would benefit from any notoriety, perhaps even more from negative attention.
