Since they appeared I've derided "drones" and those that pilot them as gimmicky. But I've come around and seen the light. Got the 107 certificate and layed out some cash. Now, who wants to pay me to have some fun with it?

Met a guy last month who was laid off from Boat Pics. Apparently a drone can take pics of a boat as good as a helicopter can...at a much cheaper cost. Fortunately, by the time they get to pax carrying capacity, I'll be retired.

We bought a phantom 3 pro then a 4 pro. Pretty amazing. Great vids, and the obstacle sensors are a nice touch. Just got the goggles, and they are really cool.

I was taken by surprise when I found out the Phantom 4 retailed for $999.99. I'd like to get a nice drone and from what I've read the Phantom series are among the best. I just can't justify the cost.

My son and I tried the racing type drones. He did much better than me, but neither of us were any good. I've seen guys on youtube do incredible things. We just kept slamming them into the ground.

I got the Mavic for my son and am amazed and its capabilities......I had no idea. Great choice!
