Another "compensation" question....
I am going to be a star. In a movie, no less. My brother in law is an independent filmmaker. His first effort won awards at South By Southwest, and was picked up by IFC (independent Film Channel) for showing domestically plus DVD sales overseas.
That being said...
His next movie calls for a pilot and a plane. I've been pestering him for years for a speaking role in a film. My wife and I have done a lot for him over the years, so payback time is nigh.
My question is this. My airplane, a single, will appear in the movie, as will I in the role as pilot. I have my Comm Multi, but not the single add-on. I will receive no compensation for this role. I won't even accept money for fuel, or any use of the aircraft. I am not an actor. I will not pursue a professional acting role, nor a professional flying role.
I plan to have a note put in the closing credits to the extent of "No compensation was paid for the aircraft or pilot."
Question is this: do you think I will violate any FARs? My read, several times over, is that I will be ok.
