IF this is true, it is very, very troubling (TSA 'watch list' anyone?)

Not sure what your point is but your right. I probably didn't remember the exact words I heard on the radio, I'm trying to convey the impression I was left with. It really reminded my of all the campus unrest during Vietnam being blamed on 'outside agitators' and any attempt at objective discussion dismissed out of had. Here's an example:

Some aviation security experts say the public firestorm is largely being fueled by a few privacy-obsessed individuals, many of them self-identified as libertarians, and is not emblematic of the larger feeling among Americans that such screening, although intrusive, is necessary to ward off terrorist attacks.

Yeah it's just them. And people with kids. And people with colostomies. And people who wear adult diapers. And people who don't want to be seen naked by a stranger. And people who don't want to be irradiated for no reason. And people who don't want to be poked and prodded and groped. And people who don't want to hear the functional illiterate maroons doing such making wisecracks about how attractive they are. Just them. And...

It does not matter if it is true or not, either way. It is not like we as a people would do anything about it. We might ***** and moan a little, that would be it.

We allow our government to do pretty much whatever it wants, including scanning and groping us at airports. Even if we wanted to do something about it, we couldn't anyway, other than replacing our existing politicians with more of the same.

If you surrender your authority to someone else, you do not get it back, ever. We have put our government in charge. The only thing any government ever wants is more power. No matter how much power we relinquish to our government, it can never be enough.

As long as most of us can live a comfortable life, we honestly do not care what happens to others. Every time we do not speak out, we relinquish a little more power. We have been doing it for so long, it is now to late to do anything meaningful about it.

This so called "list" is nothing compared to what will someday be commonplace.

Oops, I drama queened again.

New Amtrak ad:

That just means that the TSA needs to take over screening Amtrak passengers to close this serious terrorist loophole.

Then they'll do screening at highway rest plazas and truck stops. You never know if a trucker or car driver might have a weapon to allow him/her to forcibly take control of the vehicle. It's the same risk as airline pilots!
