IE 6

Can someone please give me a link where I can download an older version of Internet Explorer without a bunch of tool bars and advertisements trying to slip in or coming in with the download?

This is for my older laptop with Windows XP and service pack 3.

I am not sure why you would want to run that, but here it is:

I tried to run IE 8 but I can't get it to open.
I go to Start and it opens another box called Internet Properties
Then tabs:
General
Security
Privacy
Content
Connections
Programs
Advanced

I just figured IE 8 was too new for my Windows XP.

IE8 should run. You probably have other issues. I doubt you will have success getting IE6 to install at this point. You could also try another browser like Mozilla. You might need to repair or reload Windows.
