Found a cool toy at an antique shop in Oshkosh this week. It appears to be an aircraft fire warning/fire suppression/overheat warning control panel. Wonder if anyone can identify what it was used on.

It screams "Mil-Std", but I haven't found any labels or tags inside or out. The inside is just basically wires from the switches and lights connecting to a big cannon plug in the back.

It's obviously set up for a twin engine vehicle. I'm thinking it's post-WWII. The rear case is thin fiberglass, not metal. Not something I would have expected during the war.

I keep saying "appears", because I'm not truly sure it's for an aircraft.

This is printed on the bottom:

89257 502 ASSY
NO SHORTAGES

and there are what I assume are QA stamps.

Printed on the back:

REF: SERVICE DIAGRAM

NO.30.0200 EREC AND
MAINT. MANUAL

Guy on another forum said, "Cage Code 89257 is the Hammerblow Corp. They do both US and Canadian parts. The notation of 30.0200 screams Canadian or Brit."

Any idea what this is from?

You can see it in situ on the right side of where the pilot's right knee would be, above that red strap on the right bottom of the photo:

I found it! It's out of a Northrop F-89 Scorpion.
My God...I can't TELL you how much you made my day.

Or, I guess I should. Because I got interested in aviation BECAUSE of the F-89! Back when I was a kid, there were these National Guard jets regularly flying over my neighborhood. F-89 Scorpions, flown by the "Happy Hooligans" of the ND ANG. I got curious as to how those big, ugly, loud things managed to stay aloft.

This was an unexpected link to my past...thanks, Ron.

Oh, and I *did* pay a bit more than the one on Ebay went for.... :-)

I think it's designed to be connected the CRM 114 disciminator.
I had to look that up, but got a kick out of it when I found out.

My Fly Baby used to have a center console. I've been debating putting one back in, just to add the fire suppression panel. Also a CRM 114....

And this gauge:
