Just bought a set. Except one has 2 holes and the other has three holes. What goes where?

Pretty sure the salt shaker has the fewer holes. It tends to come out faster and you use less of it. At least that's how I was taught to remember.

Yes but people tend to use less pepper than salt.

People put pepper on less things
But people typically use a smaller dosage if you will of salt when dispensing as compared to pepper.

Also pepper kind of has to be shaken out, Salt will just pour out in a stream and doing that with 3 holes is playing with fire my friend.

Hmmm.... Just snapped this photo. These are the shakers that the new ones will be replacing. I've been living dangerous it appears.

THOSE AREN"T SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS!!!!!!!!

Those are for duck poison!
The "P" one is for the actual poison and the "S" one is especially formulated for Swans.

Amateurs!!!

POA just jumped the shark.

We've had multiple debates on hot dog condiments and if Sac is allowed to call carnitas "BBQ".

I actually googled before posting and there seems to be controversy around the subject.

My wife doesn't care what's correct she says pepper needs more holes in spite of the evidence in front if her.

My plane is down for annual, I'm bored.

Think I'll go weld something now.

I'd tape over the hole on the salt shaker and ream out the holes in the pepper shaker.

that doesn't sound identical to me.

I think you should put salt in one and pepper in the other, then after ? Mrs. bartmc ? uses them at least once, switch it up without her knowing. :goofy:

We have a couple of shakers that are identical except the number of holes. After a couple of years I STILL don't know which one is which. I wish they were just brown and white like the ones in burger places.

I engineered a solution to that problem on day 1. I wrote on the bottom of them with a sharpie.

I always thought the one with more holes was suppose to be for salt, but I really like pepper and rarely salt food, so I have always put pepper in the one with the most holes. Eff those shaker manufacturers; I'll do what I please! :D

AND THIS^
Is why I thought Salt needed less holes and pepper more.

I apologize Bart, Apparently, I have been lied to for a long time about which is supposed to be which.

O.k. I'm confused.

Are salt and pepper shakers bi-granular?

I don't know which one with how many holes to stick my pepper in ..

Who decided that salt and pepper would be the spices of choice on the American table? What if Someone wants something else?

I think it racism

Or communism....

Or some other ism

It's hedonistic herbal discrimination is what it is.

Like fluoridation of our water ? It's a communist ploy against our precious bodily fluids!!

Uh oh. Looks like we have competing photo evidence. I've always been a "pepper in the one with more holes" believer. This is what I have sitting in my kitchen. However, doing what you please is always an option.

Looks like salt contamination on the top of the pepper and proves nothing. Anyone can switch the tops

Man, y'all have it easy. Yours are at lease labeled.
This is what I have to deal with.

Lids are interchangeable, the only thing that proves is that someone didn't know where the lids were supposed to go.

What the......

Man there's no way for me to un-see that

Please. We have normal ones. This is just a cute little set that goes by the stove. It's mostly for decoration, if only because the holes are too small for pepper to really come out. :( And the flower is supposed to sit on top of the leaves. Very cute, right? Anyone? Anyone? :dunno:

No, no, no! The "S" has the actual poison ("Slay"). The "P" is the Placebo so the other ducks aren't jealous.

Pepper goes in the grinder. :wink2:

The corrrect answer.

Personal Foul! If you remember from the discussion, I called the event "BBQ", not carnitas specifically.

Your dilemma, however, is a non issue to me because I don't use salt at the table, therefore either only the pepper shaker is going to be in use, or both will be in use but one will deliver more pepper than the other.

I have translucent tupperware plastic type shakers. There is no ambiguity there, you can see what's inside.

Just go on a salt free diet and get rid of one shaker.

Geez you guys make this so difficult....:rolleyes2::lol:
