I Truely Like How Thinks Were Made 60 Years Ago

Laughing, I have an old compressor. Horizontal tank style compressor, build in the 60's. To make a long story short. I dropped it loading it into my truck. The net day huge oil puddle in the back of the truck. Pulled the air end off (thought I cracked the case). I was thinking I need to weld the case to stop the oil leak. Turns out there is a base plate bolted to the bottom of the case with a cork gasket (it must have shifted or loosened when I dropped t). I made a new gasket, bolted it back together and it's running like a champ.

Love the old style of manufacturing....

And the fact one can actually fix that old stuff, instead of sending it to the landfill and buying another piece of junk at Harbor Fright.
