I think I found my ideal plane once I'm ready to buy

I chatted up a fellow Comanche pilot at a fly-in last weekend and he was flying a late 260c model that was a non-turbo. He is in a partnership with a fellow that owns a couple of Comanche aircraft and he loved flying their other one, a 1959 250 model over the latter 260. The stabilator down-spring and rudder interconnects destroyed the lovely control harmony that they were originally designed with. I have no real experience flying anything other than my 180 Comanche, and feel its handling is quite sublime! :0) Just something to ponder before laying down the hard cash...

well that's good to know, I was looking at the 260s because I figured the newer the better. Maybe I should look at the 250s also, but find one that has a the 6 pack, and decent radios.

That's a good idea!! My panel was updated by the previous owner. He did a great job with it.

In my plane, there is plenty of room for upgrades (both physically and figuratively) :0). I have a full stack of digital Narco stuff for now. It works pretty well for what I do, strictly VFR. I have a second com that transmits pretty scratchy, and an ADF that could be removed to make some extra panel space if need be. My only upgrade in the foreseeable future will be a all-in-one ADS-B transponder that will replace an old Narco 150A.

nice layout.......do you plan on getting your instrument rating?

I am also thinking that once I get my ticket I will get the foreflight app, it looks really neat.
