Under the "how'd I never notice that before" column...

I've always clicked New Posts, then clicked the thread title, then clicked the "first unread post" link to jump down to the new stuff.

Turns out that little blue down arrow to the left of the thread title on the New Posts screen does that for you... how'd I miss that all these years??!

Now I'm retraining my hand to click to the LEFT of the title, on that little blue down arrow icon.

I'll admit I was embarrassed about how long it took me to find that arrow.

The problems I'm having now, there's something wrong and continuously breaking on the Macbook where clicks get doubled - that might be bluetooth mouse cause if it's not somethign breaking OS X. I can't highlight text reliably, either.

Yeah, I'm not the most precise clicker on the laptop, either. Plenty of folks probably thinking I'm a mad stalker by all the profiles I've checked out inadvertently.

Wow, I didn't even know the user name of the thread's author was clickable to the profile from the New Posts page; it's not underlined like it's a link. That's a simple fix for all you iPhone users, if Jesse changes the template for that page. I don't see why that name needs to be a hyperlink...

Right click to send a PM, or view the profile, etc.

Best way to do it on the iPhone is in landscape orientation, double-tap the column listing all the threads so it takes up the full width of the screen. That gets it large but not obnoxiously so, and gives you a bigger arrow.

The other thing is that the iPhone briefly highlights what it thinks you tapped on, and leaves the page up long enough that you have some additional chances to tap something else. So if you see the poster's name get highlighted, just quick tap again on the arrow (repeat as many times as necessary) and you'll get where you want to go.
