I'm up in Grant's Pass Oregon visiting friends and lucked out today.

The PT19 is a wonderful plane, so light on the controls and smooth.

Here's one picture, more to follow when I get home.

Cool. There used to be a shop at New Garden, PA, N57, that restored PT-19's. Don't know if they're still around. Yes, modified as the PT-19 was open cockpit and my uncle who trained in one, said it was "underpowered".

The canopy was added by the first civilian owner. The way the owner told the story that was the modification most requested by the civilian instructors for the army.

This one has a newly rebuilt 200 hp engine which climbed just fine, I'm guessing 3000' DA today.

That would be Joe Denest, and his 2 boys. He is doing fine as far as I know.

I was based at New Garden, PA when I had my Cherokee in 2000/2001 before I got the Tiger and moved to Pottstown, N47, then Colorado, and Lexington, et al and back to N47. Used to see a lot of nice, vintage aircraft at N57 that Lex Dupont flew, including an F4F Grumman Wildcat.

What's in your avatar? Is it similar to this, at Wiscasset KIWI(but based at Auburn-Lewiston KLEW)? (Interesting to see the flames(?) coming out of the pipes when Roger cranks her up)
