Went to buy an ice cream maker from Amazon. Went to them because it had free shipping. Reviewing the bill I just discovered I was charged for shipping (by quite a bit). I've bought tons of stuff on-line and never had this happen even once. I am pretty steamed, too.

Was it directly from Amazon or one of their affiliated stores? Not all the affiliates offer free shipping. You certainly should have seen the shipping charges as you were checking out. If it's free shipping, it shows up as such on the checkout form as you select the shipping method (because you can opt for faster shipping methods that aren't free).

I had a look at what faster shipping would do to the bill, and changed it right back. I KNOW I did. I really blew it though, I usually print out a PDF of bills for these sorts of things, but didn't this time.

Enjoy a batch of your favorite recipe, it will help you cool down. Mom really likes fresh peach.

Might be worth an e-mail or call to Amazon and see if there is any resolution..

I use Amazon quite a bit and very happy. Had to return a few things and they even picked up the return shipping :)

Good luck!

Aren't you a Mac user? :dunno:

If you are, there's a handy little feature you should know about. When you go to Print from your web browser (or any other program), there's a button/menu labeled "PDF" in the lower left. Hold the mouse button down on it, and choose "Save PDF to Web Receipts folder."

The Web Receipts folder is located at ~/Documents/Web Receipts. They'll be in there if you ever need 'em (and easier to find than a paper receipt when you need to return something a year from now), but relatively out-of-the-way.

You can get your order history, terrifyingly going back to year 0, on amazon.

You might email amazon or the merchant to see if they'll give you a partial credit.

Thats very handy. nice info

I know about the print PDF feature and use it frequently. I usually make PDFs of internet sales receipts, just this time I forgot. An E-mail is already on its way to Amazon. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still pretty ticked off about it.

Just in case you skimmed it a wee bit too fast - Read it again. "Web receipts." Not that it really matters. ;)
Hm, I didn't notice that the first time I read it..Just read it again and now I did. Cool feature :)
