143tas on 12gph isn’t great, but it isn’t bad. I can carry a lot and go a long way tooI walk away from them, too, on 9 gph . . . . .
But I did get my HP endorsement in a 182. They aren't useless, just gas hogs.

Leasing my plane back to the flying club has its pros and cons:
Pros: it helps reduce the cost of plane ownership by a lot.
Cons: it means I have to share.
I probably should work up a table like you did to see exactly what the cost is...

I have the opposite problem. I don't even want to add up how much my wife is spending on the airplane. Upgrades I didn't even know I wanted. She figures it doesn't cost as much since the labor is free. She is putting the finishing touches on her shopping list for Oshkosh. But Rule #1: The wife is always right.
